 The Spark Behind The Grapeseed Company began when Kristin and Peter returned home after a two-year adventure sailing their 30-foot sloop from Boston to the Caribbean. In her travels, Kristin discovered the benefits of natural oils and plants. During the long ocean passages, Kristin studied herbs, essential oils and the craft of making natural skin care products. After years of creating and testing formulas back on land, Kristin & Peter launched a line of bath & body treats centered on the local wine making industry in Santa Barbara. In 2004, The Grapeseed Company was born and offers premium eco-friendly beauty products for professional and personal use.
 Then came the Dirty Dog A division of The Grapeseed Company, Dirty Dog Organics came about due to the lack of quality green products in the pet care industry. Kristin and Peter adopted Surf, the face of Dirty Dog Organics, from a local animal shelter and were frustrated by products claiming to be "natural" that were full of chemicals and sulfates. They went to work creating the Dirty Dog Organics line, focusing on the pure cleansing properties of botanical ingredients. Now, Surf enjoys his baths; must be all of the pats and compliments he gets on his shiny, fresh smelling coat! Being a product tester for Dirty Dog Organics sure does beat the pound!
